[Following is an official OnlineBookClub.org review of "Artificial Wisdom" by Thomas R. Weaver.]
This book, Artificial Wisdom, is a futuristic thriller written by Thomas R. Weaver. It paints a picture of the earth decades from now, gloomy and on the verge of destruction. With no hope in sight, humanity finally has to make a difficult and unprecedented choice. A choice to determine the survival of mankind. A choice between man and, surprisingly, AI.
Tully, an investigative reporter known for his integrity and ability to sniff out the truth, is drowning in grief at the brutal loss of his wife until he gets thrown a lifeline. The opportunity to learn the truth and uncover the monsters behind the disaster that had destroyed him. Armed with righteous fury and a deep sense of justice, Tully sets about discovering the truth about the Tabkhir. Working with a few sources and people, including a renowned genius and inventor, Tully soon realizes the intricate web of lies that has been spinning for years. What happens when the truth turns on its head? When every layer of deception conceals even more deception?
One of the positives about this book was the author's ability to communicate effectively with the reader. Even though this book contained a lot of scientific terms and unusual words, it was carefully crafted in such a way that it would not be confusing but engaging for any reader. Also, I loved that even though the book had a lot of secondary characters, they were all easily introduced or dropped off at a point to enable me to maintain focus on the main characters. The book was also very descriptive, which made it easy for me to picture the scenes. This book was also very intriguing and exciting, and as a person who quite enjoys thrillers, this book did hit the mark.
I didn't find anything to dislike about this book, and I will look forward to reading the other parts of it.
I give this book a five out of five stars rating. This is because I especially enjoyed reading this book, and I think others will too. The positives above largely influenced my decision.
I would recommend this book to lovers of thrillers and futuristic fiction.
