If you haven't already started this book series, I highly recommend it. I definitely agree that this book is a great choice for fans of fantasy books. This story took place in the golden ages, it took a while to get into all the action and good parts because this is the first book in a series; there is a lot of place setting and background building taking place. The author gets you to picture the kingdom and is trying to get you familiar with all the different characters and their personalities who are all very different and interesting in their own ways, you get to see how the kings four sons are starting to compete for the throne which becomes a quite interesting read. The main character who I think got a little overlooked but will play a role in the next books is a young man named Galen who is a particularly interesting character. He leaves his war-torn country for the kingdom of Voulhire where the natural and supernatural worlds co-exist, he had the plan of taking over his uncle's farm in a small town within the kingdom but soon as he arrives strange things start to happen within the kingdom. I'm excited to see how he grows in the future books. The world-building and character development are top notch the story keeps you engaged and wanting more. The author's writing style is also very well-written, and I appreciate the attention to detail and lack of errors. I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a new fantasy series to dive into. The small vulgarisms in the book are minimal and do not detract from the overall reading experience. Overall, this book is a must-read for fans of the genre and I can't wait to see what happens next in the Kingdom of Voulhire.
