Kordel Lentine's Beyond the Bowling Ball Bombing, From Under the Sun is an exhilarating young adult action-adventure novel, spanning 271 gripping pages. Meet Terrence Brown, a socially awkward 14-year-old who endures relentless bullying at school. His life takes an unexpected turn when, on his way home from school one day, a bowling ball mysteriously plummets from the sky and crashes onto a nearby car. Dubbed the "Bowling Ball Bombing" by the media, Terrence goes from being wrongly accused by a meddlesome neighbour to becoming a minor celebrity known as the boy who survived this bizarre event.

Soon after, Terrence receives a cryptic puzzle box from an anonymous sender, bearing an inscription that predicts the exact moment he'll crack its code. Initially dismissing it as a prank, Terrence is astonished when the prophecy unfolds before his eyes. The revelation propels him into an extraordinary time-travelling adventure filled with peril and deception. Can Terrence navigate this perilous future and find his way back home? And what role does he play in the invention of time travel itself? To uncover these mysteries, you must delve into the pages of this captivating novel.

Lentine's masterful world-building and scientific explanations, especially concerning time travel and physics, lend credence to the narrative. The antagonist, Stanley, is a brilliant yet infuriatingly condescending character whose relentless belittling of Terrence provides both tension and humour. Terrence himself is refreshingly portrayed as an average boy with a bit of extra weight, eschewing the typical good-looking hero trope. This adds humour to his interactions, particularly when Avery, his stunning and popular schoolmate obsessed with the puzzle box, ends up at his house. There was nothing to dislike about this novel.

The absence of any typographical errors underscores the professional and impeccable editing of the book. With all these elements considered, Beyond the Bowling Ball Bombing unquestionably earns a perfect 5 out of 5 stars rating.

This book appeals to a wide audience, suitable for readers aged 12 and above as well as adults. It boasts action, adventure, mystery, and, of course, the captivating concept of time travel, ensuring an entertaining and engaging reading experience. It's a must-read that promises to captivate a diverse range of readers.
