Star-Torn Sky by Anna Hunter is an enthralling fantasy novel that unfolds in the mystical realm of Nadragas, where ordinary people are known as Nadras and the valiant defenders of Nadragas are called Lyndawns.

The book begins in the aftermath of a devastating attack by a fire monster, leaving Nadragas in ruins. Captain Luzja takes charge as the commander of her garrison, swearing to shield her people from the hostile factions of Datactyns and Domlo. Trouble ensues when a faction of the garrison revolts, attempting to poison Luzja and inadvertently harming others, including Revere, a close companion of Luzja who risks his life to save Luzja from a poisoned arrow. Luzja must lead her warriors against the mutineers and uncover the reasons behind their betrayal. Amidst these challenges, threats loom from the Datactyns and the enigmatic Highness Hyades, a Myrinten noble. Will Commander Luzja emerge triumphant? What fate awaits the garrison? Find out in this thrilling book.

I enjoyed many aspects of the book. The language was simple, making it easy to follow and understand the storyline. The diverse array of characters added depth to the narrative, but my standout favorite was Raide. His bold and lively personality, mixed with unwavering loyalty, made him incredibly engaging. Additionally, Felice's fierce love for her son made her quite a powerful warrior, adding depth to her character. Quena's enigmatic nature intrigued me, leaving me curious to learn more about her. The dialogues between characters were well-crafted, enhancing the overall storytelling experience. Moreover, the attention to world-building was commendable, immersing me in a richly developed setting. For those concerned with the pace at which the story was told, I would say it is moderate, which is good.

I only had one problem with the book, though. It was too short. Considering how it ended, I felt there was much more to explore, and the story could have been more elaborate.

I found no errors in this book. It was outstandingly edited. I rate this book 5 out of 5. The book was very interesting and definitely a good read, and there was no compelling reason, to be honest, why it doesn't deserve a perfect rating. I recommend this book to lovers of fantasy novels. This book would also suit Sci-Fi lovers.
