Cargo V.M. Law

Cargo
By V.M. Law
Kasey Lee the main character in this sci-fi novel by V.M. Law aboard the ship Age of Discovery has an adventure facing her that will test her and those aboard the ship. Some of my favorite lines from the story. “Could the stranger’s voice breaking through the static be the commoner, the most hated man in the Solar System?” The secrecy of the Ascendency, mythical warriors of the space age, fighters for a doomed cause banished from earth by the Leuran Council. The conspiracy is about to take place… The lawlessness of deep space. What were they hiding down there in the catacombs? What was Vitrol? Kasey’s boss Marlo Cunningham tries to keep control, but often finds himself alone. Kasey gets invited to visit the captain of the ship and his partner Gustav on the bridge of the ship. She was to be the personal adjutant to Alex for the remainder of the Europa mission.

Signal day was to celebrate the confirmation of life in other parts of the universe, to never forget the day when the race of man first encountered undeniable proof of life in the stars.

There was drug running being hidden by the staff and Kasey was about to get more involved than she would want to be.

I found the story exciting. The characters to be realistic. The computer well that was erratic. Having not been used for quite some time. Many twists and turns. I could not seem to put the book down. I have rated this one a solid 5 stars. Great reading for any sci-fi fan. Well written. I would enjoy reading other works by V.M. Law.
My favorite character was Kasey Lee. The one I did not like was Alex Hardmason.
