Review of Worst Knights Ever
Worst Knights Ever by Dane Hanson is a comical fantasy novel that takes readers on a whimsical journey through the streets of London, blending humor, adventure, and unexpected romance.
Worst Knights Ever is a tale of chaos and comedy set in London, where the lives of ordinary individuals are turned upside down when a ruthless dragon begins to terrorize the city. Amid the chaos, unlikely heroes emerge, including a dog walker with dreams of knighthood and a pair of bumbling security officers. The story intertwines their escapades and mishaps in the face of this monstrous threat with moments of heartfelt romance and unexpected sincerity.
The first thing I loved about this book was its ability to blend humor with fantasy elements seamlessly. The author, Dane Hanson, demonstrates a keen sense of humor throughout the story, infusing it with witty dialogue and amusing situations. The humor is often sharp and relatable, making it easy for readers to connect with the characters and their quirks. The fantastical elements, like the fearsome dragon, are presented in a comical light, adding a unique twist to the traditional fantasy genre. Mitchell and Rebecca's budding romance is something that I also enjoyed reading about. The narrative structure of this book is also perfect. The story unfolds through multiple character perspectives, providing a well-rounded view of the chaotic events in London.
What I did not like about this book is that it occasionally relies on slapstick and exaggerated situations. The characters sometimes felt fixed and predictable. This predictability of characters is a flaw, as it makes them rigid.
Worst Knights Ever is a delightful and imaginative blend of comedy and fantasy that showcases the author’s talent for humor. I found no errors in this book, so it was exceptionally edited. While I found a few flaws in the book, I was also impressed with the author’s satirical prowess, so I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. I recommend this book to those who love comedy.

Comical fantasy, now that feels new and fresh! I don't think I've ever seen or heard of this being done, at least not as a whole book concept. I always appreciate when authors can integrate a little bit of humor into a work to balance more somber events, but this sounds like something entirely different. With that being said, I'm not a fan of slapstick, so this might not be for me. I do like how the title hints at the comedic angle though.
