"Cast into Twilight" by Keller Marie is a science fiction novel that expertly combines elements of survival, mystery, and adventure in a suspenseful plot.

After a mysterious encounter with his reflection, Sammy, a 21-year-old bisexual, was thrown into a world of total darkness, without a sun nor a moon, overrun with werewolves, echo foxes, and every other dangerous predator that exists within that realm. Sammy meets Rourke, an Illume (citizens of that world), and together the two must battle werewolves, mistwalkers, shadow cats, and every other monster of the night to survive and make it to the Last City, the only city with light within that realm. While the pair battles the monsters of the night, they must also battle the feelings they have for each other.

One of the notable strengths of the book is the descriptive and illustrative prowess showcased by the author within this text, and countless examples are evident during scenes where the author tries to describe monsters (her very detailed description of the werewolves and shadow cats), events (her description of the aftermath of the battle between the umbra, the pack of echo foxes, and the shadow cat), or places. Another strength of the book is its captivating plot; no science fiction reader would pass up on the opportunity to read a well-told story about werewolves and other monsters of the night.

As much as the book has its strengths, it also has its weaknesses. One of these weaknesses is the editing of the book. I noticed quite a distracting amount of grammatical errors during my reading period. The second weakness lies in its ending. I felt that the ending should have had more details. For instance, how do the mistwalkers choose their victims, and how does Ashli (Sammy's best friend) react to his disappearance? I don't consider the ending a major weakness because I strongly believe the author would address these issues in the sequel, which I greatly look forward to reading.

Overall, I'd rate Keller Marie's "Cast into Twilight" 4 out of 5 stars for its captivating plot and the author's detailed descriptions; however, I deducted one star because of the weaknesses I talked about in the previous paragraph.

I'd recommend the book to both adults and young adults who are fans of science fiction.

It looks like Sammy had quite an adventure in this strange world full of creatures, especially werewolves. The story seems engaging, so I hope the author does proper proofreading to prevent distractions while reading it. Thank you for your great review!
