The science fiction novel Sent to Watch by David J. Lebenstein tells the story of an interplanetary intelligence service interested in tracking the progress of roughly 52 "Earths". While some of these "Earths" are under observation, others are against the concept of joining the confederation. During the Regency of Prince George, Unni Vlaytork and her two fellow operatives, Ori Svavapass and Urelt Sraymlat, are assigned to a faction on "Earth 48" known as the British Empire. They find themselves in conflict with the Noninterference Protocol of their agency when a violent and vicious starfaring empire is discovered in a different region of the galaxy. Together, they get into trouble when their team leader disobeys a significant rule. Were they successful?

The author's training as a geoscientist is evident in the in-depth explanations of the planets and galaxies. Lebenstein provides a close-up view of people's everyday existence during that period. Even though the plot places a lot of attention on the military, it fits well with how daily life is portrayed. The narrative moved slowly at first, but it soon gained speed. I can confidently say that this is an incredibly well-written piece of literature that touches on a wide range of subjects and necessitates the use of a highly skilled and informed mind. This was my first book in this genre, but it was still easy to follow because of the writing. The book's general viewpoint, the way the material was arranged, the language, the character names, the historical periods, and the settings used in the story all impressed me. Agent Ori is one of the well-developed characters and was my personal favorite. Even though he is only acting as an observer, Agent Ori grows to love Earth 48 and sees it as his own home.

There is nothing I disliked about this book. Hence, I would give it a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. I found this book to be professionally edited, as I didn't find a single error in it. Overall, I enjoyed reading this book and look forward to reading more books from this author.

I would recommend this book to anyone interested in reading fantasy and science fiction.
