This book was so amazing. There were so many plot twist and I loved it. It was filled with action and romance. The story line was interesting. I thought it was great that most of the characters were interconnected with one another. So many people who were introduced in the beginning of the book were brought back when the plot would thicken. I loved how they didn’t just disappear from the story without any further explanation. I did want to know more about what happened with Hero’s mother. This story really gave me insight into how fragile a child’s mind is. The trauma from Hero’s past with her mother and father really shaped her identity. I’m so glad that she didn’t use all that pain for evil. I also wish I knew where her deficiency came from. I feel like having the problems she had enhanced some of her powers, and it was a great addition to her personality since she was shy. The protection her brother provided for her was comforting. He accepted her for who she was and did everything in his power to keep her secret safe. It was unfortunate that he changed paths later on in the book. I was really touched by their relationship in the beginning because it reminded me of the relationship my brother and I have. One of the main things that I didn’t like about the book was I felt that she constantly kept hurting people to avoid being hurt. I understand the defense mechanism that Hero developed from her past, but at one point her low self-esteem started to annoy me. Leo was constantly dealing with an emotional roller coaster and I started to feel sorry for him. He was always suffering from her insecurities because she didn’t feel like she deserved to be loved. As I stated previously I understand completely why she responded the way she did, but it was just so unfortunate for Leo when he truly loved her and did everything in his power to protect her. He cared about her emotions and her mental stability more than anything. He was an amazing man and I am so happy she found someone to spend her life with. I would rate this book a 5 out of 5 because I really enjoyed this book and I was unable to find any grammatical or spelling errors.
