Review of How to successfully fail your marriage
Is it possible for couples to be successfully responsible for the failure of their marriage? How and why does this happen? In light of the escalating divorce rates worldwide, both married and prospective couples must consider acquiring a copy of Marlon O. Cole's book, How to Successfully Fail Your Marriage.
Spanning 118 pages, Cole employs scientific explanations to delineate the reasons behind failed marriages and viable pathways for success. He draws from personal experiences, aligning them with scientific principles and presenting them in accessible terms, ensuring readers grasp his concepts effectively.
I wholeheartedly concur with most of the pertinent points raised by Marlon in this book. Undoubtedly, the home stands as the cornerstone of society. Children whose parents mutually nurture and guide them foster not just a happy family life but also robust relationships. The alarming prevalence of divorces, single parenthood, and instances of abuse, particularly among the black community, is deeply troubling, as highlighted by the author. Cole adeptly dissects complex terms like "feminism," "misogyny," "independence," and "interdependence," shedding light on their nuanced meanings and implications.
This isn't your run-of-the-mill marriage guide; it fearlessly tackles diverse issues. I gleaned numerous invaluable lessons from the book that I'm eager to share with others. The author's heartfelt letter to his daughter serves as a precious paternal gesture that every parent should consider imparting to their children, serving as a safeguard against potential vulnerabilities to issues like sexual and drug abuse. Encouraging them to emulate the lioness, capable of standing in for the lion yet understanding when to yield leadership, is a powerful analogy beautifully presented.
I find no fault with this book; it was professionally edited, and I unequivocally rate it 5 out of 5 stars. Despite incorporating Bible verses, the book transcends religious confines, offering valuable insights. I highly recommend it to married couples, struggling partners, young adults, adults, and counselors alike.
