A.D. Landor has explored his imagination, and he has created different worlds in this high fantasy novel. You will meet different characters (a lot of them) that are the author’s brainchild, and they do not have human forms. Angel Falling is written from the perspective of Azshael, who is an angel and the lead character in this story. Hence, the book also carries a subtitle: An Azshael Story.

Azshael is from the Seventh Flight, which is led by the Archangel Prince Anael. The angels inhabit the world called Horta Magna. They have signed a truce with Succae, who are a race of immortal vampires and live on the Succae Moon, which is headed by Vod Karsz. The truce was signed almost twenty years ago to restore peace after the war called the Succae War. However, some inhabitants in both worlds are not very fond of peace restoration. Three murders happen as a consequence of the events that follow. Amidst the huge band of accomplices of the two leaders, it is never quite clear who all are making their secret plans. To get the answers, you will have to read this novel. Azhsael unites with Lytta (from the vampire side) and tries to uncover the mysteries. The story comprises various types of characters: some fly, some are capable of changing forms, some are very mystical, and so on. The descriptions of the places should create vivid pictures in your mind of the fantasy worlds where the story takes place.

I would like to mention that this book lacks a section of glossary. There are so many characters in this story with fanciful names that, at certain points, I had to pause to recall the identity of the characters in the story.

I rate this novel 3 out of 5 stars. I could feel that the author has tried to go very deep into the imaginary center of his mind. As a result, this fantasy story is developed. Also, certain mysteries add to the storyline of this novel. However, I was not highly intrigued by this fantasy story. The lack of a glossary (as mentioned before) could be a deterrent for readers.

The disappearance of the word "I am" is indeed the highest happiness! :)
