Man's quest for immortality is ongoing from age to age. This fantasy fiction has added this quest as an interesting element to the genre. I think it has an element of original contribution to the repertoire of this genre. Your review is a taste of all that is in this very engaging and captivating suspense thriller.

Fantasy, history, and religion are quite a mix. Reading is definitely the only way to get more clarity on the book.

Your review is really interesting. This has me intrigued about how the entire story unravelled. The story seems interesting because it has some interesting facts. That is, to get rid of evil, you must use evil tactics. It is similar to saying that to catch a thief you have to send a thief after them. I would love to catch up on this one too.

Quite interesting story of Steven who after serving his country in World War II, goes to Buddhist people in china to extend his life, and they tell him life extension is actually a punishment than a boon. This book is interesting .
life is only knowing the unknown, we can do this by reading books easily- Online book club is a great place for this. This is what I believe.

This type of book where experiments from WW2 are intertwined with reality and fantady are always intriguing. The religious aspect can be found controversial but this is a fantasy book, so anything is possible.

I am interested in this book's concept of love, magic, evil, and the perils of everlasting life. Moreover, I want to know more about the division or contrast between Buddhist and American cultures. What a brainy concept! surely a thought-provoking fantasy story. Fantastic review! Well done, MarisaRose!

I enjoyed reading your thoughtful, detailed review! You gave me a good idea of the plot without giving too much away. The narrator seems like a relatable character who is grappling with his life after serving in WWII. The descriptions of the differences between the Buddhist and American cultures sound interesting. Unfortunately, the themes are not my cup of tea - alternative history, fantasy, and the Nazis. Glad you enjoyed the book.

Congrats on BOTD!
The account of Steven, a WWII veteran who sought life extension from Buddhists in China after serving his nation, is particularly intriguing. The Buddhists informed Steven that life extension was more of a punishment than a blessing. It's a fascinating book.

The first chapter sample and premise of this book are intriguing, but after reading this review, I’m not sure the rest is for me – sounds a bit too out there for me

Good job done on writing a great review! It’s very precisely described how the book is, making it easy for readers to go for it or not. The review has been made interesting to those loving fantasy, history and stories on immortality. Learning about Buddhist and American culture and beliefs must be quite interesting!
