Severed Roots by Nego Huzcotoq is an exceptional book. Although I wasn't sure I would like it at first, I ended up getting hooked on it. The storyline is captivating enough to keep one reading for hours just to know what the main character's next step will be. This book was a wonderful read and I definitely don't regret reading it. Overall I rate this book five out of five stars. I am glad to say that I was very impressed with what I read. Enough exposition was given to each of the character's back stories which also contributed to the overall storyline. The reason for my five out of five star rating is that this book was excellently written. The sequence of the plot was so wonderfully arranged as well as the plot being so wonderfully put together. Although I wouldn't say that this is one of the best books I have ever read, I will say that this was a very good book which I would easily recommend. It wasn't boring at all and rather kept me on my toes because of the little plot twists the author managed to throw in unexpected places. Truthfully, I don't think there is anything that could make this book a better read. Everything from the wonderful plot to the witty use of language made the book very interesting. I will also have to include that there were absolutely no typos which was surprising to say the least. The use of language and the words in the book were so well edited and then there was also the accommodation of words intentionally misspelt for emphasis on particular accents which added to the overall understanding of the book. This was an excellent read and I highly recommend it, it is not the best book out there but it certainly is close.
