Nowhere to Hide is the third book in the Five Worlds series by Jude Austin and is a science fiction thriller. The story finds Kata and Tau living on different planets while navigating their new lives after escaping from those who want to use them for nefarious purposes.

Kata, also known as Kalin Taylor, is still the broken young man he was when he escaped GenTech, and the demons he battles are many. His own family bullied him into believing him unworthy of love, and their resurgence in his life brings all of those terrible memories back to the surface. Kata has found an ally and friend in Captain Alan Morgan, but Kata’s insecurity makes him fear he doesn’t deserve anything good in his life. Before Kata can start his recovery and build a safe life, he and Alan get sent on a mission to a space station on the edge of explored space.

Tau’s character has made a peaceful life for himself in a deserted settlement on planet Atthiras. He enjoys the simplicity of his life and does not want anyone to take it away from him. He continues to evolve in a way that may put off some readers who valued the close relationship that developed between him and Kata during their time in GenTech.

For the first time since the end of the Trandellian Conflict a few centuries ago, civilization is at risk of war due to the greed of Adrianne Demont. Adrianne has her sight set on a specific target and sends a group of Cahrini assassins to retrieve him for her, no matter the cost.

I am a big fan of this series. The writer continues to weave incredible tales of survival, trauma, and humanity. Many new characters are introduced in Nowhere to Hide without detracting from the main storyline. I am especially intrigued by Diran Nasceri and hope to see more of him in the next book.

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars. I thought the writer did an excellent job of furthering a suspenseful plot, and the depth of each character came through. This book is for mature readers as there is profanity and violence throughout the book. The book was professionally edited, and I did not find any errors. I found no negative aspects in this book and highly recommend it.
