We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz introduces readers to the compelling journey of Galen, a young man granted a life-altering opportunity by his ailing uncle. Tasked with taking over his great-uncle's small business in the kingdom of Voulhire, Galen escapes the harsh realities of the war-filled Land of the Princes, where he has lived in survival mode since the tender age of eight.

Set against the vibrant backdrop of Voulhire's bustling city, Galen finds himself thrust into a new chapter of his life as the heir to a blacksmith forge in Magnum Caelum. The story skillfully unfolds, revealing not only the intricacies of city dynamics but also the artistry of blacksmithing. Galen's journey toward self-sufficiency becomes a central theme, captivating readers with its challenges and growth.

Simultaneously, the narrative introduces Judge Eldus, tasked by King Wilhelm to oversee Hillport—a town brimming with untapped potential. Eldus faces the dual challenge of steering the town's progress while dispelling lingering apprehensions left by its previous rulers. The parallel storytelling of Galen and Eldus adds depth to the narrative, intertwining their fates and creating a rich tapestry of interconnected stories.

The accessible writing style accommodates readers of all levels, making the meticulously crafted premise engaging from beginning to end. The narrative is charged with excitement, and the vivid descriptions transport readers seamlessly into the enchanting realm of Voulhire. Tysz's exceptional craftsmanship shines through, evident in the beautifully written narrative and concise character descriptions.

The novel's unique structure, with each chapter dedicated to a different character, allows them to shine individually, contributing to the overall richness of the story. The characters are not only detailed but also personable, ensuring that each reader finds their favorites. The playful banter between Galen and his companion, Rowan, adds a delightful touch to their adventures.

I didn't find any negative aspects while reading this book. Exceptionally well-edited without errors, We are Voulhire receives an unequivocal 5 out of 5 stars. I wholeheartedly recommend this novel to lovers of fiction, dark magic, and adventure, as it masterfully weaves a captivating tale that resonates long after the final chapter.
