Wow, this book was magical and the fantasy throughout the book was largely explored. This is my first time reading such a whimsical journey. The book starts off pretty great, giving you all the information you need to follow the journey of the read. One of my favorite features of the book is that there is a personification with Voulhire; creating Voulhire as a character, if you may, instead of just a place. The details from the author, on the cities of Voulhire, were striking. I felt almost as if I could imagine every bit of the fantasy in my head from the details on the page. The author gave this place the feel of old times, sorrow, greed and sorcery; the journey of this book gives you many possibilities and perspectives through its characters.

Galen was my overall favorite character. Galen had an idea about him, bravery and thirst for the unknown. He experienced the lack there of and wanted better for himself. He travelled only to find himself questioning his findings. He became the heir of his uncles forge. The forge is a sort of symbolic heirloom. Although some hiccups arise, Galen found himself at a new place in his life.

Slightly profanity (page 47)

All in all, “We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies,” was a superb read. The book was brilliantly presented and the fantasy had so many levels to explore. I even love how at the ending of the book there was a glossary to help you better understand words that may have stumped the reader. I wouldn’t have really changed anything about the story. The book starts off sorta slow and steady but besides that, I enjoyed the characters and the sequence. I would love to give the other stories along this series a shot to see what the entirety of the author has to offer. I would like to see what else the author can bring along in my imagination with the words he drags along simple pages, it was a wonder. I am here to keep reading, and experiencing.
