Review of We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies
Matthew Tysz’s ‘We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies’ is the first part of a fantasy fiction series, that grips its reader and sweeps one into a Voulhirian world of magic that never lets go until you are done reading. This is my first ever official review and my first time dipping my toes into a fantasy fiction review and I would say I am glad to have stumbled upon this opportunity to read and write on this masterpiece.
From the twists and turns that ever shadow the great General Meldorath, to the aspersions eventually cast on the character of King Wilhelm - was there a betrayal? Furthermore, towards the end of the book, it leads one to wonder if there is more to the simple and kind character that is Galen Bray and what plot exactly does Rowan have in store. There are so many interesting stories to devour and absorb. The Author’s diction and deployment of poetic license in describing events, eras, atmosphere - cosmos, alithea and caromentis, just keeps one thirsty for more. The more the story developed, the more captivating and surprising it gets because nothing is the way it seems. I mean it did eventually seem like Lord Ortis and the purported heinous crimes he committed on children was a farce created just to get him out of the position he was occupying in Hillport, which Lord Meldorath needed in order to keep implementing his experiments. I would want to know if the portal between the cosmos and catomentis eventually stay open and both worlds merge? Also, I should like to find out what eventually happens with Marshus too and completely understand the role of Beth; … would I like to become a mage? and if so what type of mage should I become? (just an aside in my imaginations currently), so I will be looking for the subsequent part(s) of the Series.
It is needless to say that I rate this Book 5 stars because I absolutely appreciated and loved everything about it and its use of imagery. The sexual content and profanity aspect barely skimmed the surface, as to warrant a heavy mention. I found no typographical errors and it seems the Book was professionally edited. Suffice it to say that there is nothing I would change about this amazing work of art. If you would like to pick a Book and stay scintillatingly stuck to it, then I highly recommend reading this mesmerizing piece.
