Review of We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies
"We are Voulhire : A New Arrival of under Great Skies" by Matthew Tysz is one of the fine dark fantacy read. Writing will make you capacitive and engrossed in narration. Transition from one chapter to another and one scene to another are perfectly done. You can actually visualise the characters and depth of their role through the read.
Character development of from King Wilhlem to, Galen, to Meldorath are well written and connected throughout the book. All the characters have Stories from there perspective which is very amazing and relatable.
The book serves you combination of mystery, supernatural elements and magic all together so that keep your curious in every chapter. At some point you can't wait to get to the next pages and can't wait to find out what happened. The way the magic is explained is very well I must say.
In the beginning of the book author make sure that you actually get little bit idea of land of Voulhire which is great. The story starts with “once there lived…” which you make you really comfortable and eager to read this book further. It is story of “Emperor of Lullabies” who had four sons. He notices that all his sons are become more and more set on becoming a King so, he thoughtfully and purposefully gives each son and Island and small army money and lot of weapons to protect their respective Islands from intruders. This plot make you curious to the mysterious history of Voulhire.
The character named "Galen Bray" belongs from "Land of Princes" and Travelling towards the Voulhire for the better future. He is traveling mainly in order to meet his uncle who is dying now and found him as only heir of the business. He is not aware of the dark disturb history of “Voulhire”. He is very relatable character and you can empathize with him the moment he start to tell his narrative. I personally enjoyed whenever Galen narrates his experience and feelings as his perspective.
The story mainly moves around the character named "Meldorath " who declared as "dead" but mystery remain very much secret till half of the book. No spoiler as you really find out what happens with this mystery.
Matthew Tysz has wonderfully written his imagination of castles, the struggle for throne, brother against brother. Reader can actually moved to the fantacy world and feel the royal Kingdom experience.
This book is the first book in the series and so it introduce so many characters and their POVs. So definitely it had impacted such way that really looking forward to read other books from the series.
