This is an interesting book to read. The book starts with a story that creates interest and curiosity in the reader. Notably, it begins with a show of magical power which appears prevalent in Voulhire. This first chapter of the book also shows how magical power or witchcraft in Voulhire is able to overcome weapons.

At a later chapter, though the author doesn't state it directly, the reader is taken through the birth of Voulhire which could possibly have been when a certain king gave each of his four sons an island to govern and defend against aggression. The author later expertly introduces the 'Old One', the man who tells a short story of how Voulhire was born.

One can't fail to note that there's power struggle and scheming in Voulhire. This, however, doesn't seem to affect prosperity and unity during celebrations. The author again expertly brings together a whole nation to celebrate including the feuding leadership. By the end of the day the nation remains united amidst wars in the neighboring islands. One notable thing is that the high and the mighty participate in dance during the celebrations. They also eat and drink together and with the other people.

One might assume that the people of Voulhire are heathens due to practising witchcraft and magic. However, the author writes about the 'eiodi' who is the head of the Church. He is so important that he takes an important position next to the king at the statue of the founder of Voulhire during the mentioned national day which also involves prayers. What the author shows is that the people of Voulhire also have a religion they practise. They make a prayer to God in unity during the celebration.

The author demonstrates a high command of the English language and his grammar is unquestionable. He has also written the book with a level of vocabulary that is easy to understand. He has kept the story so interesting that when it ends, the reader is left in a suspense and waiting to read the next book in the series. The level of creativity exhibited by the author is one that a reader can't wait to experience again.

The power struggle and scheming in Voulhire create suspense for the reader. The author's impeccable use of the pen allows the readers to immerse themselves in the world of Voulhire. The celebrations and unity allow the reader to experience joy and comfort. The magic and witchcraft create wonderment. This story will hijack my mind. Thank you for this concise review. :techie-studyinggray:
