Nowhere to Hide begins where Kata and Tau’s legal battle against GenTech concludes. This novel interweaves breathless action with adored familiar characters, some notable new characters, and a smattering of deliciously wicked ones!

Ruthless Trandellian assassins called ‘holin’ keep the reader on the qui vive, unsure of what is coming from one moment to the next! These violent killers are not for the faint of heart, dear readers! Diran, a cunning hol, performs a tour de force stunt upon Core Central that will leave you awestruck and (guiltily) cheering!

Although the sparse interaction between Kata and Tau in this third book left me feeling sad for them, the evolution of Kata and Alan’s relationship was one of its highlights. Without revealing spoilers, I’ll impart that while on a mission to solve the disappearance of four Akkhenian girls, Kata and Alan board the space station Suliko, where catastrophic debacles befall them. The horrific events culminate in the unexpected loss of lives but also a strengthening of the bond between Kata and Alan. I wanted to learn more about newcomer Neil and whether Diran executed positive change on Trandellia—without himself being executed! Alas, we must wait and see what happens in the next installment.

I enjoyed encountering the eccentric animals debuting in this novel! My favorite was a bird. So... here’s a shout-out to the intelligent Akkehian strirla! I enjoyed reading about these giant, self-governing, saddle-wearing birds that understand human language and are ready to carry a person at a moment’s notice! Their personalities are amusing: “A strirl will pay hundreds of dollars for a new saddle decoration and then refuse to take on riders for at least a week just so it can strut about showing off to all the other strirla.” I wish the book had featured a drawing of this animal! (I noticed two spellings for this bird: strirl and strirla. I concluded that strirla is likely the plural of strirl.)

Another animal that stood out was the creepy and venomous swiflefish— a freaky little creature that gave me the heebie-jeebies! Be prepared to recoil as you read about these deceptive little buggers!

Exotic plants, shrubs, and flowers also bedazzle in this story, not to mention trees so massive that one fallen leaf completely covers a lawn—further attesting to author Jude Austin’s boundless imagination!

Despite the considerable length of this book, there is no time for boredom as the author’s “literary prod” administers unexpected jolts of eye-opening and jaw-dropping twists! Magically weaving drollery throughout the intense and intricate plot, the author’s ceaseless surprises keep the pages turning! 

I enjoyed every aspect of this sci-fi adventure and look forward to the next book! For these reasons, along with the stellar editing, Nowhere to Hide unquestionably deserves a 5-out-of-5 star rating!

The Five World Series should be read sequentially for fluid comprehension and utmost enjoyment!

This well-written and entertaining review has piqued my interest in this book. Normally, I am not a reader of sci-fi stories but this one caught my attention due to the interesting creatures and plant life that the author created. I do need to read this series of books as I have had a taste when books in the series have been book of the day, but each review I read just emphasises how great the books are.
