As the first volume of a seven-book series, We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz does a great job of naturally introducing the reader to this new multiverse, merging common elements from our daily lives with the wonder of a fantasy world. The choice of words completes this process, leading the reader in the exploration of the multiple storylines that intersect and intertwine harmoniously along the way.

Although a duality is presented between the Land of Princes-led by war and suffering and Voulhire-the prosperous land of a caring king, the story takes place in Voulhire. Part of the story follows Galen Bray, who, after living his youth in the Warland, inherits a forge in the land of peace, providing a personal perspective on the contrasting worlds.

All detailed characters are well-constructed and multidimensional, making me feel a whole palette of emotions for them along the way. Each character is properly introduced, allowing the reader to grow accustomed to their personalities and behaviors before seeing them in complex situations.

The difficulties and dangers the rulers have faced and have to face are presented alongside the struggles of the common people. The general vibe is mysterious, suggesting that anything can and might happen at any moment. Magic is introduced as part of the fabric of reality, a normal, natural phenomenon, which helps society function. However, it presents a potent danger if misused, casting a looming shadow that persists and intensifies throughout the book.

I give it five out of five stars because it always kept me interested in what would happen next. My reading experience had no negative aspects; therefore, I would not change anything because it perfectly unites moments of happiness and sorrow, worry and hope, prosperity and carnage. Each scene is enjoyable and vivid. I found myself giggling and laughing out loud at times. Whether a character was charming or eerie, I always felt an enchanting desire to know more about them. Also, the editing is flawless, which made the lecture so much captivating and delightful.
