Sent to Watch by David J. Lebenstein is a thrilling science fiction tale about aliens who travel between planets to learn about different civilizations. They find multiple Earth-like planets and form a group called the Confederation of Civilized Planets. These planets work together to explore new worlds without interfering with their development. But trouble arises when they encounter the Vittmian Empire, led by a dictator who wants to conquer every planet in his path.

The Confederation initially observes the Vittmians without interference, but when the Vittmians discover them, they attack the Confederation's base, sparking a war. The conflict escalates until both sides agree to a ceasefire, but the threat remains.

I loved the author's simple writing style, which made it easy to read. The comedic elements added a nice touch, and the ending took me by surprise, which I appreciated. I also like that the book did not stick to the conventional storyline most fictional books about other planets and beings use. It was original, and that was a great reason I liked the book.

However, one part of the story I found difficult was the event that highlighted the escalating tensions between the Confederation and the Vittmians and showed the real danger they posed. It raised the stakes for the characters too early into the story. I did not like this about the book, but everything else was next to perfect. I really loved reading this book, so slowly, so that I would not miss any bit of action or details. I loved the inclusion and combination of several interesting concepts.

I saw only two errors when I was reading this book, so it was professionally edited. There are no significant negative aspects about this book, so I am giving it a rating of 5 out of 5 stars, which it truly deserves. I recommend the book to people who like science fiction books.
