Heaven and Earth is a fascinating sci-fi book which I highly recommend for both sci-fi fans, and the general public. Sci-fi fans will enjoy the fictional story of aliens from Treretumia returning to earth to possibly form an alliance with earthlings. The story unfolds of their previous visits, the last visit resulting in the infamous Area 51. The alien’s study of earthlings and our quirks and foibles is hilarious yet seriously illuminating reading, full of our unfortunate truths of inconsistency, imbalance, poor health and bad decisions. The thinly-guised indictment of government, health administration, military and corporate corruption form a backdrop to the story, rather like a red thread of warning throughout the book.
The general public, though, should definitely read this book because the author is an expert in chemical engineering and has thoroughly researched and taught at the university level about CADMIUM POISONING. Although most of us know about the dangers of mercury and zinc, I am probably not the only one who wasn’t even really aware of the third heavy metal that is toxic to our bodies – Cadmium. Yet this toxin is found in the phosphate fertilizers that are poured into our soil, and then washes downstream in our waters. Each chapter of the sci-fi portion is followed by a short bullet list of factual information about Cadmium. It was eye-opening to say the least!
Recent Facebook posts about Monsanto and fertilizer toxicity added weight to the serious concerns of CADMIUM POISONING. The word is slowly getting out into social media and becoming a topic for discussion. As we know, John Q Public is slow to understand danger but is powerful en masse to halt it when enough loud voices take up the protest. Unfortunately, as with so many past dangers uncovered in the USA, history shows we usually then ship the danger to poorer countries and still damage our planet and people.
Heaven and Earth is a well-presented science fiction story with a message - to warn readers of the dangers of Cadmium and its toxicity as well as conspiracy of the government to hide the danger. This story of two scientists, Olga and Galatin, and their involvement with the aliens from Treretumia was a terrific read, to which I would give a 4 out of 4-star rating. The alarming data on Cadmium also warrants a 4 out of 4-star rating on the non-fiction side. The author has done a fantastic job of presenting the scientific data in an understandable format for us non-scientists. There was absolutely nothing that I did not like about this book – it was engaging and enjoyable from the start, although alarming is the best word to describe the underlying message about Cadmium.
The simple yet complex message of this book makes it stand out from the sci-fi crowd. I believe this story will stay with me in the coming days as I make changes in my life based on what I have learned.
