What would you do if you were tested by the game of life while pursuing your passion? Would you desire to face a thrilling experience like an adventurer or swirl around like a leaf on turbulent waters? Sebastian and the Invisible Island, a sci-fi adventure tale created by Michael William Hogan, answers those questions through Sebastian's ventures as a castaway who faces a combination of natural and supernatural threats.

Sebastian, our protagonist, is currently on a boat journey across the world with his parents when we meet him. A bright young boy, he enjoys fishing and has excellent survival skills. The setting and rise of tension in the scenes are conveyed in a straightforward but informative way.

The novel is edited well and does a fine job of enticing the reader to keep reading to find out if Sebastian is saved, along with what happens as a result of the struggle between the two factions he encounters. The groups that he encounters could have been fleshed out more, but at the end of the day, this is focused on Sebastian, so what we get is quite good for a stand-alone novel. The overall quality was fine, despite a few transitional sequences that could have been edited more for a smoother read. All things considered, this particular tale is a pleasant read, and I'm pleased I picked it up.

In conclusion, I would rate Sebastian and the Invisible Island five out of five stars. The story is well-written and entertaining, and the characters are likeable, making it easy for people of various ages to enjoy it. I especially liked that even though the main character was a genius, he was not above being able to empathize with in some situations. I would recommend this to people in their teens and older who enjoy adventure books mixed in with a tad of sci-fi.
