The Devil Pulls the Strings by J. W. Zarek is a story that takes the reader on a thrilling journey through various worlds and genres. From the medieval setting of the St. Louis Renaissance Festival to the dark alleys of New York City, the stories are filled with action, suspense, and intrigue. The characters are diverse and complex, adding depth and continuity to the collection.

Throughout the book, the author explores themes of good vs. evil, loyalty, and redemption. The stories are rich in detail, with vivid descriptions of settings and characters that transport the reader to new and exciting worlds. With its fast-paced action, intricate plots, and complex characters, this book is a must-read for fans of suspense, adventure, and fantasy.

I really enjoyed reading this book. One part that stood out to me was the character of Sapphire. She was fascinating and had a rich backstory that added a lot to the story. I admired her determination, courage, and loyalty. She was portrayed as strong and capable, able to handle tough situations.

One storyline that particularly grabbed my attention was the journey of Boone and Sapphire as they navigated the dangerous world of a secret society in New York City. This plotline was engaging and suspenseful, with unexpected twists that kept me on the edge of my seat. The author skillfully mixed mystery, action, and fantasy, creating a thrilling and thought-provoking narrative.

There is nothing to dislike about the book, as the storyline explores themes of loyalty, trust, and redemption. The relationship between Boone and Sapphire was beautifully developed, and I appreciated how they supported and relied on each other throughout their journey. The author created a sense of tension and urgency while also exploring deeper emotional themes, making this storyline a highlight for me.

I gave this book a 5 out of 5 star rating. I loved both the plot and the characters. There were just the right number of characters, and I didn’t notice any grammatical mistakes.
