Galen Bray, desperate to escape the constant war in his homeland, sets sail for Voulhire after inheriting his uncle's property in the kingdom's capital city, Magnum Caelum. Voulhire boasts wealth and culture, but whispers of a dangerous past linger. A powerful mage, Meldorath Dalehei, once terrorized the land, and rumors swirl about his true fate. King Wilhelm struggles to maintain order amidst a political power struggle with Chancellor Maido. Meanwhile, Galen navigates his new life with the help of his uncle's executor, Rowan. However, Voulhire's facade of peace is further threatened by the Riva Rohavi, a silent rebel group with a grudge against the kingdom. As Galen settles in, he must grapple with the reality of Voulhire – a land of prosperity tinged with fear and hidden dangers. Will he find the peace he craved, or will he be swept up in the kingdom's brewing conflicts?

We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies is a fantasy novel about à boy, Galen, who met his yearning to flee his homeland of Lands of the Princes, but endup meeting more than he'd expected on getting to his coveted country of Voulhire.

The book provides a tense reading experience; I was engaged right from the first page, where Galen grapples with the dangers in his homeland, the Lands of the Princes. Meldorath is another character that adds engagement to the story, instilling palpitations at the mention of his name and his actions. The characters are relatable, playing functional roles that drive the plot meaningfully toward interesting twists. For example, I enjoyed Rowan's role as Galen's executor. He exudes humor and kindness, surrounding Galen with support. He acts as both a friend in Galen's life and the executor of his uncle's estate, bringing lightness and positive vibes to the story. I also enjoyed the thrilling scene where the people of Riva Rohavi were dancing as they fought. The map adds a sense of reality to the story, making it thrillingly believable.

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars because there's nothing I dislike about it. It has been exceptionally well-edited, as I found no grammar errors. I recommend the book to lovers of epic science fiction. Also, if you enjoy thrilling narratives with a touch of tension, this book is likely to pique your interest.

This review has really piqued my interest in "We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies". The way you've described the tense and thrilling narrative, with compelling characters like Galen, Rowan, and the ominous Meldorath, has me hooked. The interplay between Galen's personal journey to find peace and the larger political conflicts and threats within Voulhire sounds like a compelling central conflict.

I'm especially intrigued by the hints you've provided about the kingdom's "facade of peace" and the "hidden dangers" Galen will have to navigate. That underlying sense of unease and the brewing conflicts in the kingdom make it sound like a immersive, fully-realized fantasy world. The addition of the map is a nice touch that helps ground the reader in this fictional setting.
