Alpha Max by Mark A. Rayner is a sci-fi story of a professor and a lecturer of ideas at a prestigious university in his city who lived his life cautiously because he lost some people who were dear to him unexpectedly, which further led to a lot in his life as he wasn't able to do some basic things of life successfully even though he wanted them but he just couldn't get them. Then, the universe found him worthy to save her inhabitants.

Who is this professor? Who were those whom he lost? How did he lose them? How was he found? Was he able to save the universe and beyond? Did he eventually get all he ever desired? You'll find out in this highly adventurous book.

My favorite character is Max, who existed on the earth where there were no humans, more like an island. His survival instinct kicked in, and in no time he was able to achieve a lot. He did things he would never have imagined, and the results were beautiful. He lived each day feeling fulfilled; he had tasks and goals to meet as the days passed, and he’d make sure he met them. He didn't give up, but he braced up and created a life and pattern of living out of nothing and nowhere. It was a very inspiring one. He made lemonade out of the lemons life threw at him. It was worth it in the end.

The most hilarious part for me while reading this book was when Jeeves said Max’s suit looked like a blooming undertaker's outfit. It cracked my ribs.

I must commend the author for such a wonderful job, as each chapter connects. It keeps the imagination going without any break.

This book is for those who are interested in ideologies and philosophy, as they all have to do with minds. This book has a lot of lessons in it. It enlightens us about how some individuals think drugs can help resolve certain problems, which is so untrue. It would only make it worse; constant use of drugs could make one lose their mind, and this doesn't look like it's solving problems at all. There are other ways to solve problems, and where there is a will, they say, there's a way. It's okay to tread the right path to reaching a solution rather than complicating it more.

In addition, we are in control of whatever situation we are in; all we have to do is believe, and the strength, instinct, and other supportive factors will come to life, helping us to pull through that season successfully.

We need people in our lives; life is never meant to be done alone. We need people of like minds who are ready to stick by us when they are most needed. Relationships are important because, at some particular juncture, if we do not need people, people will need us.

Though this book has a lot of profane words, and sexual content which make it unsuitable for young adults. Apart from this, there is nothing I dislike in the book. I also found just one typographical error. Therefore, I'd rate it 5 out of 5.

We all have to find our own path in this life. Even when it feels like life has been very unfair and nothing we do is at all helpful, sometimes all it takes is a push in the right direction. The professor ultimately makes life easier for himself by making the correct decisions to help himself. Thanks!
