“Legacy of Rebirth: Progenitor’s Burden Book 1” by Andrew Bigford is a novel that explores various realms in the cosmos designed by the architect. Each realm seeks to conquer and control the others, overlooking the superior being governing them all. This being created diverse life forms with unique powers to dominate their realms. The story follows Sinclair Hagerson, an average human on Earth, who becomes the subject of an experiment by beings from another realm, Kafor and Heroti.

While Sinclair sleeps, Kafor and Heroti insert a seed into his body, transforming him into a being with supernatural powers. Unaware that Odin, a superior god, controls Earth, Sinclair wakes up feeling different. He soon notices changes in his physical, mental, and intellectual capabilities, eventually gaining entry into another realm. In this realm, he must prove his worth as a warrior and leader to shape a new world planned by Odin. This book is the first installment in Andrew Bigford's 'Progenitor's Burden' series; the story’s plot involves battles against Snow Elves, Ice Elementals, Ice Trolls, and Myrkr spawn across Iceland, Scotland, and Italy. While for Sinclair, each victory gives him fighting experience and powerful titles that enhance his abilities, he's not invincible to greater ordeals that will challenge and question his trusted powers.

One of the most captivating elements of "Legacy of Rebirth: Progenitor’s Burden" is its richly detailed and imaginative world-building brought to life by a good writing style. Andrew Bigford masterfully crafts multiple realms, each with its own unique characteristics and inhabitants. This complexity adds depth to the narrative, making the cosmos feel vast and intricate. The concept of different realms vying for control under the watchful eye of a superior being is compelling and adds a layer of philosophical intrigue to the story.

Specific examples of this impressive world-building include Sinclair's entry into another realm, where he encounters a menu screen that provides him with knowledge beyond human comprehension. This device not only advances the plot but also immerses the reader in a world where reality is intertwined with myth and magic. The various challenges Sinclair faces—such as lifting a magical stone, battling a Draugr monster, and fighting goblins and ogres—are vividly described and highlight the uniqueness of each realm. These events demonstrate Sinclair's growth in strength, intelligence, and fighting skills, making his journey both engaging and exhilarating. Additionally, the relationships Sinclair forms with his wolf companions, Chewy and Leia, are a highlight.

Their bond is developed through shared battles and mutual dependence, adding emotional depth to the action-packed narrative. This partnership is exemplified during their battles against formidable foes like Snow Elves and Ice Trolls, where teamwork is essential for survival. These moments not only showcase the protagonists' fighting prowess but also their loyalty and camaraderie.

I don't have anything to dislike in this novel, and it's exceptionally well edited, with no grammar errors. Therefore, it earns a rating of 5 out of 5 stars.

This book is particularly suited for readers who enjoy epic fantasy and adventure tales. Fans of intricate world-building, where multiple realms and mythological elements converge, will find this book appealing. The novel's blend of supernatural powers, brutal training regimens, and fierce battles will resonate with those who appreciate stories of transformation and personal growth through adversity.

This novel stars an epic fantasy series using mythological elements to create a storyline with a modern spin, so to speak. Battles are fought by characters trained like normal soldiers but also with the use of supernatural powers. I'll look into this series. Thank you for your great review!

Epic fantasy is not my genre, this book is not for me. I can see how the story with the different realms, supernatural powers given to a mere human, the action of the battles will appeal to readers.

Great review! I was going to go on about the major Lord of the Rings/Game of Thrones-esque fantasy vibes this seems to have. Then, I read this:
Additionally, the relationships Sinclair forms with his wolf companions, Chewy and Leia, are a highlight.
A Star Wars reference. Of course. It just couldn’t be helped, could it? lol
