Review of Road to the new horizon
Paddy has a happy married life with his wife Isabel and his children. His ordinary life one day gets interrupted when his son shares the shocking news that overweight people are ascending into the sky and simply disappearing, never seen or found. He found it hilarious and thought it had to be a hoax, but he was aware that he was also overweight and may be a target. Soon, his fear becomes real when he becomes the latest victim and starts ascending into the sky. He had numerous thoughts about whether he was going to die or if he was going to heaven. But soon he realizes that he is alive and has been abducted by the aliens for some mysterious purpose. When his latest escape attempt fails, he is transported to a strange new planet. What do the aliens want from him? Will he survive and find a way back to his home planet and family? Are these events much more significant than they appear? Read this fantasy fiction book, Road to the New Horizon by Bobby Brazil, to find out.
I liked several things about this book. The fantasy world that the author created was admirable. It had a lot of relatable characters and relationships. From the protagonist, Paddy, who faced endless challenges throughout the book with courage, to his best buddy, Nobby, Their friendship was refreshing, and they stood by each other always. Paddy's struggle will keep you hooked and leave you wondering what happens next. There were some decent twists and turns in the story. The book also does well in providing an educational message and a warning to save the earth before it is too late. It makes us think and encourages us to act now. I found a few typos and errors in the book, which was otherwise edited professionally.
There is nothing to dislike about the book. Everything in the story fits together well, and I have no complaints.
I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars because of the reasons I described above. This book provides fantastic entertainment value with the key message of saving the planet and showing us a glimpse of what our future may look like if we do. It was a funny, entertaining, gripping, and educational book that I fully recommend to all the fiction readers out there.
