"Impact" by Mark D. Owen.

The story started when Commander Choi ignored the Japanese astronaut’s hand signals. He mocked the warnings and decided to come in fast, and his copilot was impaled by a bulkhead truss. Dr. Kohlrabi Trust, governor of Moonbase Verity, awoke, sensing something was wrong. Checking the monitors, everything seemed normal until he saw a NASA alert about the ISS crash. Watching the video of the crash, he documented his observations and began his day. Kohlrabi offered support and advice, encouraging Tamarind to transform his feelings into acceptance and mindfulness. Tamarind descends to his underground control center, a comfortable and well-equipped room. There, he analyzes asteroid data while reminiscing about his past at PNLI and his complex relationships, particularly with Almond Brighten, who married Flax Venture.

Tamarind's project, Phosaster, aims to mine asteroids for valuable materials, supported by a secretive $60 billion investment from PNLI founders. Heads of state announced the destruction of Apollyon using nuclear missiles, causing an EMP and auroras but no damage to the Earth. President Jaspar urged calm and celebration, knowing the impending disaster. Despite efforts to reduce the fragment's size, it remained a significant threat, with Tamarind and his team continuing their last-ditch attempts to mitigate the impact.

I give "Impact" by Mark D. Owen 5 out of 5 stars because it masterfully blends science fiction with deep human emotions and ethical dilemmas. The book's structure, divided into four parts, takes readers on an intense journey from Moonbase Verity to the final impact event, keeping you hooked with escalating tension and surprising twists. The detailed and realistic depiction of space missions and technology adds authenticity, while the philosophical reflections on human nature and cooperation elevate the story beyond mere entertainment. Mark D. Owen's writing style is engaging and thought-provoking, making "Impact" not just a thrilling read but also a profound exploration of humanity's future in space. Readers who enjoy science fiction, space exploration, and complex human drama should read this book. It's perfect for those who appreciate realistic technological details, ethical dilemmas, and intense, high-stakes narratives.

I haven't found any dislikes in this book because it thrilled me the whole time while reading, and the editing quality of the book is the best, which has no flaws.
