Review of No Truce With The Vampires
Life is mundane for the average human at best and downright sad for the rest of humanity, which happens to be most of humanity. Humans succumb to this depressing lifestyle as vampires become the new rulers of the world. However, we see a revolution taking place as a new power threatens to overthrow these indomitable rulers. In Martyn Rhys Vaughan’s sci-fi book, No Truce With The Vampires, we follow the mission of Seargant Charles Grey as he is instructed to investigate the strange killings of prestigious vampires and the attacks on Blood Farms, which happen to be important to all vampires at the expense of vulnerable humans. However, as Grey follows up on leads, he finds that these peculiar proceedings are not just the result of human terrorists who are fed up with the hand that they have been dealt, but that what is occurring is much more complex than anyone can anticipate and much more personal to Charles than he could ever imagine.
I loved reading this book. I loved the use of satire in this novel. This comical aspect added some lightheartedness to this dystopian novel. This book contained subliminal messages that make the reader aware of how humanity has made poor choices that have directly impacted the world, so this challenges us to take care of our planet. I sympathised with the protagonist. I loved that he played an unbiased role, somewhat playing the role of the mediator amidst two opposing groups.
I don't have any reason to dislike this book. The writer's style was unique. The plot progressed well. It is evident that the author is well-versed in the subject of science.
This novel is the embodiment of this saying: The devil you know is better than the angel you don’t know. The build-up to the climax was thrilling. Each chapter unravelled new information, making this novel concise. I, however, wish the story didn't end with a cliffhanger, as I was looking forward to finding out what happens next. I hardly came across any mistakes, making this book well edited. Overall, it was a worthy read. Therefore, I give this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars.
I would recommend this book to those who love science fiction, conspiracies, and novels with a dystopian and supernatural theme. It is quite vulgar, so it is best suited for an adult audience.
