Artell Smith did a fantastic job with character development by providing a clear and concise background on each of them. For example, the 12 children had two different mothers, with a 37-year age difference between the oldest and youngest child. It was easy to differentiate between them because they were called the “Older Family” and the “Younger Family.” I enjoyed the cookie, stuffing mix, and turkey recipes the author shared. Pete’s dad taught him many important things about life and death. The one I think is important for people to learn and understand is that life is about more than ourselves and material possessions. I liked that the author discusses the religious and scientific aspects of life and death by talking about the universe and how it impacts our lives before and after death.

This book was a joy to read because of its smooth-flowing plot and the author’s writing style. I gave it 5 out of 5 stars because of the positive aspects I discussed above, its professional editing, and the fact that I encountered no negative aspects while reading it. The lack of profanity and the lessons you can learn to be a better person make this book a welcome addition to any library.

As discussed earlier, this book suits all religious and non-religious beliefs. Even though it contains Christian elements, there is also a belief in reincarnation and the power of the universe. Those who enjoy reading fantasy books about ghosts and learning about life and death will particularly enjoy this book.

Great review for the book. Death of a loved one at any age is something hard to go through. All those conversations left unsaid. Glad Pete gets to learn from his father in his last moments. I would love to read this book.
