Galen Bray thought he was going to die in the Lands of the Princes. The Emperor of Lullabies, fearing his sons would overthrow him and take over his territory, gave each of them a place to govern, but it slowly became a point of contention among them. Wars erupted between them, and along with the war came famine. If you didn't die by the sword, you would die by hunger. Lucky for Galen, however, he had a distant uncle who had no heirs and who was dying. He sent for Galen, contracting Rowan to find him and guide him through inheriting his estate once he died. He was also to take over the forging business the uncle had left in Magnum Caelum. And that's how Galen got so lucky to escape the turmoil in the Lands of the Princes.

Meanwhile, Lord Orlin of Hillport had allegedly been performing indecent acts with children, which led Meldorath, a former general and magician who was incomparably strong, to kill and dethrone him. People thought things would get better, but Meldorath began experimenting with dark magic, and at that point, King Wilhelm had to step in and arrest Lord Meldorath. He then sent Lord Eldus to restore order to Hillport. Things, however, would grow worse when the Riva Rohavi terrorists attacked. Read how things went down in "We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies" by Matthew Tysz.

This is a very captivating novel to read. I like how the magic, fantasy, politics, and everything else were put together. The characters each told their stories from their own perspectives, which all combined into a single overall story. I like how connected they all were. Meldorath was King Wilhelm's general and friend at some point, and Galen and Rowan seem to be tied to the same fate. I like how the book introduced the series, and I can say it was very well done. There are no boring bits, and the random and spontaneous action scenes kept me reading till late. I also like the fact that the book was exceptionally well edited and had no errors or typos. I highly recommend this book to everyone who likes fantasy books. Since I can't think of any reason to deduct any stars, I rate the book 5 out of 5 stars; there was literally nothing to dislike about it.
