In the loading dock, a Zoratron named Missy Crissy was unloading ten thousand teddy bears. As she lifted one of the final crates, she staggered and accidentally dropped it, shattering the crate. Devastated by what she perceived as a failure, Miss Crissy sobbed softly while cradling the teddy bear in her arms. Teddy bears are cultural symbols in Zora, and she cannot fail at her job. However, in the isolation cell where the damaged toy was confined, a miraculous event occurred—the Teddy began moving on its own, walking from one end of the cell to the other! This unexpected discovery alarmed the entire planet. The ruler of Zora swiftly decreed that it be returned to Earth and disposed of. Yet, Missy Crissy, feeling responsible for this Teddy, was resolved to protect it at all costs. What will become of Missy Crissy and his newfound friend?

The novel How Christopher T. Twinkles Came to Be by Davinna K. Wilberg and Mosetta Penick Phillips-Cermak, Ph.D., takes place on the fantastical planet of Zora and centers around a marvel of extraterrestrial characters, including a sentient teddy bear. The book has both fantasy and sci-fi elements, except that the plot does not involve complex conflicts and themes. But despite a story involving toys, space, and extraterrestrial creatures, it may not be accessible to children under thirteen years old. There is still a learning curve to get through concerning the names of certain characters and concepts, especially at the beginning of the book. What I find the most interesting is the debate concerning the teddy bear's right to exist. Some believe that its ability to move signifies life, deserving preservation, while others contend that it's merely artificial intelligence and should be destroyed.

The writing has adequate descriptions of the scenes and the actions of the characters. I do not have any further criticisms. A couple of errors were noticed, a testament to good editing. Overall, my rating is 5 out of 5 stars, and I recommend this book to young readers intrigued by intergalactic adventures.
