No Truce With The Vampires by Martyn Rhys Vaughan is a book in the sci-fi/fantasy genre. This book is the first book in the No Truce With The Vampires series, so prepare yourself for a cliffhanger. Sergeant Charles Gray is a police officer in a town called Marinetown and in a world ruled by vampires. Charles was given an assignment to investigate a strange incident in the Diodati Institute. He was also given a new partner, Serafina Ginevra. Their investigation leads them to a group known as “Sons of Man." This group was attempting to take back the world for humans. But what Charles and Serafina saw in the Diodati Institute wasn’t caused by humans or vampires. It was caused by something entirely different. Just who were these new enemies that emerged from the shadows? Will humans ever be free from the vampires' rule?

What I liked the most about this book were the characters. There are many different and memorable characters in this book. I am interested in reading more about how the vampires lived their daily lives. However, since the focus of this book is Charles Gray, who is a human, I didn’t get to read much about the vampires. My favorite character in this book was Serafina. Ever since she first appeared, I instantly took a liking to her. The way she treated Gray was very entertaining to read. I have to admit that as I was reading the book, I was hoping Serafina and Gray would hook up. Let’s just say that by the end of the book, I was satisfied with how it all ended, for now.

What I liked next about this book was the story. At first, I didn’t agree with how the vampires treated humans, and a rebellion made by humans seemed like a worthy goal. But then the Vetusian appeared, and everything changed. I end up rooting for the vampires by the end of the book. The author wrote the story very well, and the way he ended the book makes me want to read the next one immediately.

I had nothing to dislike about this book. There are a few errors, but they didn’t reduce the reading experience in any way. So I can say that this book is professionally edited. I gladly rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. This book starts with a crime that wound up being filled with the mystery of the supernatural. There were many questions still left unanswered in this book. That is why I can’t wait to read the next book.

I recommend this book to readers in the fantasy genre. This book provided a different perspective than the traditional vampires, which is why I say that readers who enjoy stories about vampires would enjoy this book. There was a lot of profanity and graphic content in this book, so I would recommend this book to mature young adults.

Very interesting that you would stop rooting for the humans and root for the vampires instead! Something major must have happened for you to change your mind. This intrigues me and makes me want to read the book. Thank you for this well-written and informative review. :techie-studyinggray:
