Review of We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies
5 out of 5 stars.
"We Are Voulhire: In the article titled “A New Arrival under Great Skies” by Matthew Tysz the readers are invited to explore the fascinating world of the Kingdom of Voulhire. It narrates the life of Galen Bray, the protagonist who leaves the Lands of the Princes to find himself in the middle of a war; he inherits his uncle’s forge in the bustling city of Magnum Caelum. By staying under Rowan’s tutelage, Galen starts forging a new life amidst politics and magical conspiracies. Similarly, King Wilhelm faces domestic threats in the form of the chancellor, Midius Maido, who is eyeing to dethrone him. In Hillport, Lord Eldus Alderman who was recently appointed seeks to bring back life to the township which was ravaged by tyranny especially by the terror of mages as evidenced by Meldorath. Tysz is a world-builder, and while this story is steeped in magic and measured with medieval politics, there are deeper questions at play here. Galen and Eldus, both three-dimensional, keep the story flowing and add emotional depth. This novel is a brilliant start to a series that will bring meaningful captivating stories, which is why it deserves 5 stars.
One of the admirable aspects of this novel is its character development. It does help that Galen has a soft personality and is determined, which makes him easily likable and a perfect representation of an underdog hero. The change from his native land experiencing war conflicts to the incumbent in Voulhire will always be positively inspiring. The secondary characters such as Eldus Alderman the nobleman with mixed feelings and Meldorath the mysterious mage play their part in the diverse makeup of the story.
Tysz’s prose can be described as poetic, yet there is no opaqueness to it; thus, the reader will be entertained when reading his work. It easily moves from one chapter to another while each chapter adds another view to the storyline. On the whole, the inclusion of a glossary at the end of the book is a nice touch, allowing readers to fully engage with the complex elements of Voulhire.
The thematic elements of "We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies” turn it into more than a mythical journey tale. Tysz shows us the causation of fear, the implications of power, and the strength of the spirit in ways that can only be praised. For instance, the philosophical components imbue the story with a sense of dimensionality that challenges readers to think beyond the character’s activities.
While "We Are Voulhire: All in all, the story ‘A New Arrival under Great Skies’ is very descriptive and as a result may be confusing due to changing points of view. Also, the use of informal language in the context of medieval times may seem incoherent at times. Nonetheless, such small peculiarities cannot overshadow the richness of the experience and the well-earned 5 stars for the book.
I could not see any mistakes while reading the book In this book there are no typos or grammatical mistakes observed Book's editing or writing style is perfect Overall it deserves a 5-star rating.
In conclusion, "We Are Voulhire: In the present list of analyzed novels, the most fantastic and mysterious is the novel named “A New Arrival under Great Skies.” Matthew Tysz has built a fascinating and engaging setting for his protagonists which means more exciting stories to come in the subsequent books. Every admirer of this sort of literature and everyone who looks for a powerful story about courage, change and people’s striving for a better existence should read this novel.
