Have you ever wondered how life would be like living with blood-sucking creatures like vampires? "No Truce with the Vampires Book 1: Those Who Sleep" by Martyn Rhys Vaughan explores the life of Charles Gray, a sergeant who works at the Human Division of State Security Police. The story explains how blood at certain farms started to disappear without a trace and the destruction of several blood farms by unknown people. Charles works together with Serafina, one of his colleagues, and they later discover that some vampires are being killed and their bodies dismembered with missing hearts by unknown creatures. Read more to find out what was killing these vampires and ripping out their hearts, as these vampires were using humans as blood banks.

This book is fascinating, with a well-crafted and compelling story that kept me on edge. Its vivid description of situations and events adds to its depth. The life of Charles Gray is so interesting, working as an undercover police officer who is sometimes torn between helping his friends escape or arresting them for aiding the destruction of the vampires' blood farms. This difficult choice makes the story even more engaging. The book's unexpected twists make it even more interesting.

I enjoyed every aspect of this intriguing story. I liked how Charles Gray related to his friends and his vampire bosses. His working relationship with Serafina was a great success, with interesting acts of jealousy from Charles Gray when Serafina helped solve a case. I found nothing more to dislike about the book except for the profanity that was all over it.

I rate this book 5 out of 5 due to its compelling story and professional editing. This rating is because the book is clear and each word can be understood by the reader.

I recommend this book to readers who love stories that involve scary creatures like vampires, especially adults, because of the profanity in the book. Overall, this book is interesting, and I can't wait to read Book Two, "Those Who Wake."
