"We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies" by Matthew Tysz is an engaging start to the We Are Voulhire series. The story introduces us to Galen Bray, a young man who escapes from his war-torn homeland, the Land of the Princes, and finds himself in the mysterious Kingdom of Voulhire. There, he inherits his late uncle’s blacksmith business and begins a new chapter in his life, full of both opportunities and challenges.

The book takes us through Galen's journey as he adjusts to his new life in Voulhire. Voulhire is a land with a rich history and political intrigue. The story is set against a backdrop of power struggles and magical threats. King Wilhelm Arcolo rules the kingdom, while Lord Eldus Alderman tries to improve the village of Hillport. At the same time, a dark figure, Lord Meldorath, lurks in the shadows, and his past actions cast a long shadow over the kingdom.

One of the strengths of this book is its well-developed world. Tysz has created a detailed and immersive setting that feels real and vibrant. The maps and glossary included help readers keep track of the various places and terms used in the story. This world-building is crucial for a fantasy novel and adds a lot to the reading experience.

The characters in this book are also well-written. Galen Bray is a relatable protagonist who faces many challenges as he tries to adapt to his new life. The supporting characters, including Lord Eldus and Lord Meldorath, add depth and intrigue to the story. Each character has a clear role and contributes to the unfolding drama.

There is nothing I dislike about the book. The book is  flawlessly edited. I found no errors or issues with the text, which shows that the book was carefully edited.

I rate "We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies" 5 out of 5 stars because Matthew Tysz has written a fantastic and well-crafted fantasy novel. The story is compelling, the world-building is excellent, and the characters are engaging. This book is a great start to the series and will appeal to fans of fantasy novels. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys detailed and immersive stories.
