Review of Plunged
Shilo Creed, in this book, "Plunged," merges science and spirituality in his breathtaking, brilliant, and beautiful writing in this intriguing science fiction. Jacob Carter, a Navy seal, is deployed to the Engage ship. In his mind, he can’t wait to do what is required of him and go back to base. He didn't know that bigger plans awaited him—plans for him by the Almighty and plans by Project 157. Jacob’s life experiences a significant turn-around as he shuffles between two realities, the physical and the spiritual. In trying to understand his new spiritual reality, he has to learn to always put his trust in God and rely on the Word. Will he? Jacob is, however, not alone. With the trusted help of Sage Emerson, it is pertinent that his physical enemies are kept at bay as he journeys through the spiritual, learning, and unlearning ways that will serve him in his physical journey of life. There is so much to unpack from this novel that, with fingers crossed, one can only hope that everything works together for the good of Jacob Carter, whose life does not only hang in the balance of the physical and spiritual but also in enemy territory.
I loved everything about this book. The storyline was captivating, and it kept me glued to each page. What I loved most about the book were the teachings on faith. Jacob was the one being taught, but I learned a lot, and I believe this book has strengthened my faith in God and will do so for other Christians. It was not like any book I have ever read; everything about it was unique. I also loved how the author filled the book with many scriptures; they were very soothing to read. I loved how each chapter started with a quote; my favorite was by Andrew Womack in Chapter Five, which read, “Faith is simply acting like God’s word is true.” This quote ministered to me personally. The author also did a great job of showing us two points of view in the book, those of Jacob and Sage, which made the book more interesting. The book was also educational, as I gained a little knowledge of science and medicine.
There was nothing to dislike about this book; the author brought together science and spirituality and achieved a masterpiece with it, which is why I would rate this book 4 out of 5 stars. My reason for removing a star is that there were so many errors in the book; save for that, everything in it was perfect. I hope to read a second part of it in the future, as I believe the story of Jacob and Sage has not fully come to an end.
I would recommend this book to Christian readers who love fiction; this would be a delight to them, and it would be welcomed with open arms as there are few fictional novels like this.
