"We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies" is the initial book in Matthew Tysz's "We Are Voulhire" series, a fantasy story that combines detailed world-building, vibrant characters, and a deep exploration of themes such as power, morality, and power struggles.

The story starts with Galen Bray, a young man fleeing the war-torn Lands of the Princes. His past is marked by tragedy and suffering, having survived a deadly conflict. Galen's escape takes him to Voulhire, a land filled with both magic and political scheming. In Magnum Caelum, he inherits a forge from his late uncle and leads his journey into a city filled with both hope and danger.

The book explores the impacts of Lord Meldorath's rule on Hillport, a town greatly affected by his leadership. Meldorath, a dark mage, left behind a legacy filled with terror and devastation. Lord Eldus, chosen by King Wilhelm to rule the city of Hillport, is shown as a noble yet struggling character. The political situation is made even more complex by the existence of the Riva Rohavi, a brutal insurgent group known for their love for violence and chaos. When they aggressively attack Hillport, tension and conflict increase. Additionally, the book is impeccably edited and expertly crafted, containing no grammatical mistakes.

"We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies" by Matthew Tysz is an interesting and enjoyable read that takes us to a world filled with intrigue and suspense. Its exceptional world-building, from the failing Hillport to the bustling Magnum Caelum, and its complex characters, especially Galen Bray’s journey from a devastated refugee to a determined blacksmith, earned it a flawless five out of five-star rating with no negative points.

I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys epic fantasy novels with a well-developed world filled with magic, political scheming, and war.
