Policeman Gray and Aiyana, the Police Commissioner, sort through the remains of a dystopian community run by vampires called the Elite. They're working together to solve a case in the blood refinery, the Diodati Institute, alongside his teammate, the playful Serafina. Their investigation will lead once more to one of blood thefts, terrorist attacks, and plots led by Edward. In this narrative, you will find themes of power over another human being, the pervading alleles that stereotypes can leave on society, and how somehow survival at cost messes up everything.

I appreciate and admire Charles Grey's resilience more than anything else in the story. Charles has to deal with a mean vampire government. They are mean to him. And he has to deal with his own complex issues. More about who he is. He tries to stay connected to the truth. And help those he cares about most. Charles's journey is very nearly what human resilience means, as he just keeps going in the face of the onslaught of the Vetusians and his ever-so-slightly-dodgy brother Edward.

Instead of running away when faced with such overpowering threats, he stays put and fights for those he believes in. However hopeless it may appear, this gives me some much-needed optimism in adversity. It is inspirational to read, and I like that I picked lessons from the book about the potential to prevail in times of hopelessness and despair. The book was exceptionally well-edited and error-free.

I cannot see anything that I disliked about No Truce With The Vampires. Thinking of all the twists and turns, the author really keeps one on their toes. When I thought I might have an idea of where the story goes, everything changed, and these new directions made total sense in hindsight. The unexpected kept the story lively and interesting, which made it difficult for me to set this book down.

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars because it is thrilling with Martyn Rhys Vaughan leading the way while keeping me guessing about what lay on the other side. I liked the fight Gray made against a cruel vampire government and his own problems. It was very daring, and the book is deep and easy to read, influencing its deserving a perfect rating. I would recommend this book to anybody who likes to read dystopian novels with some human struggle against a dystopian setting.
