Matthew Tysz's "We Are Voulhire" takes readers on a thrilling journey to the magnificent kingdom of Voulhire, a world of wonder and politics, showcasing the richness of Voulhire's rich history. Large numbers of refugees coming from a continuous war in the neighbouring Lands of the Princes are putting a lot of pressure on Voulhire. Lastly, there is Galen Bray. This man is from these war-ravaged lands. By a twist of fate, the protagonist, Galen, comes into possession of a forge in Voulhire, and it’s his only opportunity to flee from mayhem and start anew.

However, the aspect that sets “We Are Voulhire” a notch higher is its world creation. Tysz pays great attention to detail as they develop the unique setting of Voulhire, creating the terrain, the people, and the culture. Having followed Galen through all the challenges together, you will explore such places as sunny cities and noisy bazaars, discover the mystery of blacksmith work, and, of course, its mystique. The author presents a synchronisation of the different narratives to present a multifaceted view of society in Voulhire and its problems.

This book stands out from others due to its unique features and contributions. Firstly, it showcases a relatable protagonist: Galen is an average man given an artistic push into the track of an extraordinary script. He puts a lot of effort into improving his fate and finding a new life that is worth living, and that is why it is easy to support him. Secondly, Tysz does an excellent job constructing the world of Voulhire and specific venues and events within it; thus, reading the book, one can imagine as a clear picture the market places, countryside views, and even the facial expressions of characters and their interactions. Also, it involves some captivating adventure—the use of twists and turns of the plot in a narrative to make it an interesting story. You are going to be there with Galen through all his new experiences and adventures, where he acquires new skills and discovers new things about Voulhire. The editing was exceptionally done, and it was free of errors.

I also loved its unique chapter style; the author decided to work with a concept instead of chapters. Though at first glance it may seem rather strange, it appears to add to the experience and tighten the pacing of the plot. I must mention that "We Are Voulhire" is the beginning of what is expected to be a series of stories. Although the plot within the introduction-conclusion of this book feels inherently complete, be ready for an open ending that will make you look forward to the next part. For these reasons, I’d rate this novel a perfect five out of five stars; I had nothing to dislike.

"We Are Voulhire" is a wonderful book for people who love to get completely immersed in the world of fantasy. Here you have a number of interesting, versatile characters, a captivating plot, and a well-constructed world, and all of these make me want to read more. Therefore, if you would like a perfect holiday full of magic, adventures, and mystery, then you should be sure to read this book.
