Matthew Tysz's captivating fantasy book "We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies" transports readers to the enchanted realm of Voulhire. The story centers on Galen Bray, who moves to Voulhire to take over his late uncle’s blacksmith shop. Upon arriving, he finds that Voulhire is a land beset with danger. The kingdom is threatened by the rebel faction Riva Rohavi and the dark mage Lord Meldorath. Though Meldorath is thought to be dead, his dark influence still looms over Voulhire. As Galen tries to adapt to his new life, he becomes deeply involved in these grave events.

One of the standout features of this book is its detailed wording. Tysz paints a vivid picture of Voulhire and its magical aspects, which brings the setting to life. The story skillfully balances Galen’s personal challenges with the larger conflicts facing the kingdom. This combination keeps the plot engaging and fast-paced. The integration of magical elements into the political and personal dramas adds layers of excitement and depth to the narrative.

The way Tysz connects various storylines is another strength of the novel. Galen’s individual journey and the kingdom’s broader issues are seamlessly interlinked. The characters are well-developed, each adding something unique to the story. The relationships and interactions between them enrich the plot and make the characters’ growth feel genuine. The book also includes helpful features like a map and a glossary, which aid in understanding the complex world and its inhabitants.

A small critique is the book’s ending, which leaves some unresolved questions. This can be a bit frustrating for readers who prefer a more definitive conclusion. However, this open-ended approach builds anticipation for the next book in the series, which is likely the author’s intention.

Overall, I rate *We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies* 5 out of 5 stars. The novel is well-written and free of errors, making it an enjoyable and smooth read. For fans of fantasy who appreciate a blend of magic, action, and political intrigue, this book is a compelling choice that promises an engaging adventure.
