Are you looking for a new fantasy book that will take you to a magical world full of mystery and adventure? Do you enjoy stories where kingdoms are on the brink of war and characters must navigate through challenges to survive? If so, “We are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies” by Matthew Tysz might be the perfect book for you. This first book in the Voulhire series introduces us to a world where kingdoms are on the brink of chaos, and power struggles threaten to tear everything apart. Amidst this turmoil, we follow the journey of Galen Bray, a young man who unexpectedly inherits a forge business from a long-lost uncle in the land of Voulhire. However, when Galen arrives, he finds that his uncle has passed away, leaving behind only a journal as his guide. As Galen navigates this new and mysterious world, he must learn the craft of metalwork while also dealing with the growing conflicts around him. How will he manage to build a new life in Voulhire while the world around him becomes more dangerous?

This book does a fantastic job of building a rich, magical world that you can easily get lost in. Another character, Meldorath, who is my favorite in this book, plays an important role in the story. The author has crafted Meldorath as a mysterious and powerful figure, and the mysteries surrounding him kept me wondering whether he is meant to be a hero or a villain. That curiosity is likely to be answered only in the next book, as this one ended on a cliffhanger. The skill of the author in weaving together the stories of multiple characters, like Galen, Meldorath, and others, without causing confusion, is truly commendable.

By reading the first book alone, I can already tell that the rest of the series promises an even more exciting journey, with all the scheming and magic introduced in this one. I loved everything about this book and have nothing negative to say. The editing was flawless, making the reading experience even better. Hence, I rate this book 5 out of 5 and highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a captivating fantasy adventure.
