The storyline resumes with a particular emphasis on a change of events that involves Meldorath Delehei, who is presented as a former general of the Voulhirian Southern Army. After shifting from this beautiful office, he is thrust into the seat of power in the southern coastal town of Hillport and is later dethroned and killed by King Wilhelm after being found performing cruel and inhumane scientific tests. The narrative then turns to Lord Eldus, who has been made to take over as the new Lord of Hillport.

Lord Eldus, together with his wife Charlotte and children Isla and Marshus, on the other hand, packed heads to the castle in a bid to restore peace and comprehend the challenges left behind by the previous ruler. Beverly, being the chief servant of the castle, is the one entrusted with its historical knowledge and leads them. Toward the end of the book, the central mystery has not yet been resolved: will Lord Eldus be able to make Hillport great again, and how does this constitutional lord compare to the bad lord Meldorath?

Tysz has created a beautiful world and described the city's magic in detail. The magic that occurs in the cities is always the crowning scene, so well elaborated that they become like a 3D film in the head of the audience. For example, in a scene with communication between Meldorath and Eldus, the former uses engagement to communicate through mystical writing, which is quite creative on Tysz's part.

Characterization enhances the book's overall plot. Galen's conversation with his friend Rowan, as well as his interaction with Demetrius, a monk/imburer, complement the story. There is also a subplot involving Galen’s desire to take over as blacksmith for the family business, as per his uncle's manual, which is very much absorbed in the main plot. Furthermore, Demetrius' warning about trust reveals some aspects of the mystery.

We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies is a good mix of fantasy and suspense with well-defined characters and story and narrates. Last, but not least, Tysz’s magic scenes, superbly told, render this novel impossible to put down. I would recommend this to readers into epic fantasy and those who like detailed, fictional worlds with strong characters in them. The book is exceptionally edited. There was nothing to dislike. I would rate it 5 out of 5 stars.
