Matthew Tysz centers his book on Galen Bray of the Lands of the Princes, and that quest he has to secure an inheritance in a quiet town named Magnum Caelum sets us on an adventure. On this journey, Galen encounters an array of interesting notable characters: first, there is the villainous Lord Meldorath, who has an evil background and has magical abilities.

Being newly employed, Galen learns truths about Voulhire's past and the looming dangers of the future, and his own identity and purpose. We are discussing We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies, combining the features of fantasy smoothly with an adventure story and political intrigue focused on the themes of power, succession, and the conflict between Galen and antagonists.

The thing that I have appreciated about this book is that it is full of lessons that are well integrated within the story. From the experience of Galen, the readers get to understand strength as well as hope no matter what the future holds. With regard to the theme, I can appreciate how the concept of self-identification is intertwined with the need to find one’s place in Voulhire, which is evident in the character of Galen.

The characters are well-rounded, as they are portrayed with different reasons and personalities as well. I especially enjoyed the portrayal of Lord Meldorath, which I thought added a bit of tension. Galen’s experiences are incredibly personal due to the author’s ability to help the readers immerse themselves in his head and heart. The book was exceptionally well edited and error-free.

There is nothing noticeable about this book that one could dislike since it has all the features that make a good book: good storytelling, likeable characters, and good themes. The place, Voulhire, is clear and real, which I think makes it even better.

I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars, as it is a well-balanced and provocative work of fantasy, comprising well-developed and engaging characters, immersive settings, and relevant themes. This is a magnificent story with realistic characters and important ideas that are deep and vital. I would recommend this to anyone reading for good characters and world-building that unravels well.
