We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz tells the story of various characters, from a powerful mage to a humble refugee and a caretaker politician. Voulhire is a big state with different towns and cities, and this book takes us to Hillport, a village in Voulhire experiencing economic challenges. Hillport is a town that has been a victim of bad leadership, but the King's appointment of a new lord perhaps is set to bring a glimpse of hope to its people. Galen Bray arrives in the Magnum Caelum and hopes to start afresh after his past years of living in a war environment. Somewhere out of Voulhire in the deep dark forests and mountains, the Riva Rohavi set camps and held meetings, setting in place a new plan.

When I started this book, I got engrossed by its prologue. The magical elements led me to believe that I was in for a ride, and they greatly thrilled me. As the story progressed, I resonated with the narratives surrounding Galen Bray and was rooting for the character a lot. I find value in his relationship with Rowan, and I look forward to seeing how it will play out in the upcoming titles. I also enjoyed the world-building in this book. From the map provided, Voulhire seems like a really big land, and this author has shown professionalism not just cartographically but narratively. The author's choice of the world when describing the towns and cities is on point, as it gave me an easy understanding of the locations.

I disliked nothing about this book and enjoyed every part of it. I am looking forward to the upcoming titles. The editing of this book is flawless, as I found no errors in it whatsoever. Due to these reasons, I rate this book a perfect 5 out of 5, and I recommend it to fans of magical thrillers.
