Review of We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies

Galen boards a ship, and after days of sailing, he arrives in Magnum Caelum, Voulhire, expecting to meet his uncle. Galen is received by the Mayor of Magnum Caelum who then shows him his uncle's house. Galen began exploring Voulhire the following day by meeting Rowan, his uncle's executor, who guided him to the banks for some transfer activities.

Voulhire had its share of challenges. The Hillport side of Voulhire suffered oppression from its lords, Orlin and Meldorath. Riva Rohavi also posed a danger to Hillport. They no longer wished to see prosperity in Hillport, a town they despised.ย

King Wilhelm is determined to see every region of Voulhire transform into a better place, from Soulhire, Yamon Soul, Hillport, and Virko. Riva Rohavi and the Caromentis, led by Meldorath Dalehei, are the forces King Wilhelm must overcome to ensure peace and stability in Voulhire. It is now up to Galen Bray to adapt to these tense environments and realize his dream in Voulhire.ย

The author used detailed descriptions to describe every scene's setting. Matthew explained in detail the characters' appearance, robes, movements, and gestures in every scene. He described clearly images of structures like the buildings in Magnum Celum, Yamon Soul, and Hillport Castle. I was excited by these detailed descriptions. I paused at times to imagine these features.ย

I was also excited by how the author engaged several characters and molded them distinctively. Matthew molded distinctive characters like Galen, Rowan, Eldus, Marshus, Meldorath Dalehei, Midius Maido, and King Wilhelm, making them stand out. I was excited at how the author combined all these people from different towns across Voulhire to make up an intriguing story.ย

Matthew incorporated magic and mages, making this book more interesting. The magic created instances of dilemma and uncertainty, making me anxious to read the next episode.

Did I encounter instances that could turn me off? No. The author crafted all scenes skillfully in a manner that held the readers' attention. I always longed to find out what happened next in the subsequent scenes.ย
