In the book Lann Dan: Blades of Destiny, James Raquepau tells us the story of gods, mythology, adventures, magic, and even romance. Breanna Ban Morna, a lady of Celtic and Novegr origin, was assigned the duty by Danu, the mother goddess, and the other Tuatha De Danann gods to find the Lann Dan, whose blade can conquer any warrior. She is a Gaelic warrior who possesses magic. With her exceptional fighting skill, she has earned her position of honor next to the chief, and all her training was to defeat the most feared raider, Hakon Skadi, a Novegr. Unknown to her, Hakon Skadi is her biological father, who came years ago and raped her mother alongside other women, and she was a product of that assault. But when her mother told her the truth of her birth, Breanna started thinking, With the assignment given to her by the goddess Danu, would she be willing to kill her father? You will best find out in this amazing story.

The story has depth, and the characters are well-developed. I liked Breanna's character; despite her fears of opening herself up to love because she was afraid that if Eoin found out about her identity, he would not love her as much, she remained strong and focused. Her fearlessness and determination made her role exciting. As the story's protagonist, her character is immensely relatable, and her role makes the story more interesting. Her quest was still beneficial to her, as it opened her to know more about herself and her destiny. The plot is well built up. I have no complaints about Lann Dan: Blades of Destiny; the author is an excellent storyteller.

The battle scenes were wonderfully detailed, drawing me into the story. I appreciate how the author included Eoin and Breanna's love affair in the write-up. Aside from being a ferocious fighter, she was also a lady open to love, which made the narrative more realistic. The novel is well-paced and avoids repetition. Even though this was a fictional account, I appreciated the author's use of a map to depict the kingdoms of eastern Erin. I recommend this book to historical fiction fans who enjoy adventure and mythology. I'll give this book a 5 out of 5-star rating because it is expertly edited and error-free.
