We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies is a deliberation on power, redemption, and the human condition. It is a novel that talks about how people deploy their powers by using magic, political influence, or the strength one has in comparison with another. The underlying theme of redemption is one that sees the quest of characters like Galen and Lord Eldus, who aim at making amends with their past to forge a decent future. It was a story of the state of humanity, struggles, fears, and the push-and-pull factors in a world replete with magic and dangers. It had the mingle of moral and destined themes within.

Surprise and turns dot the storyline that will keep the reader glued right from the first word to the last in the novel. The dark secrets of Lord Orlin discover their further investigation by Lord Eldus grow into a thrilling story. The arrival of mysterious Meldorath with further perilous plans puts underway urgency and danger.

The subplot concerning Galen Bray's journey from the Lands of the Princes into Voulhire introduces a new eye and fits wonderfully with the main storyline. Plot twists were evoked—very well done kept things suspenseful and forward-moving. It was edited exceptionally well with no noted errors.

I do not dislike anything in this book, which is because characters like Lord Eldus and Galen Bray were multidimensional throughout the book, with much growth within their character. The personal struggles they have to endure are handled with nuance and depth, including all their moral dilemmas and changing relationships that happen. It's this depth that lends weight to these persons, making them somehow relatable and truly interesting as one journey into the characters. The ability to build fully rounded characters, as Matthew Tysz can do, reveals their skillfulness and gives layers to the text itself.

Masterfully balances great themes and the human condition within a seriously engaging narrative full of plot twists. Matthew Tysz's well-rounded characters make the story not only engaging but also full of insights, which made me give this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. Highly recommended to all the readers who love fantasy and character-oriented stories.
